Working Principle of Hammer Iron Crusher

 

The hammer iron crusher operates on the principle of high – speed impact and mechanical grinding. Here’s how it works:
1. Rotation and Impact
A motor drives the main shaft, which in turn rotates the rotor fitted with hammer heads at high speed (hundreds to thousands of revolutions per minute). As scrap iron enters the crushing chamber through the feed inlet, the fast – moving hammer heads strike the material with strong impact force, breaking large pieces into smaller fragments.
2. Rebound and Secondary Crushing
The initially crushed materials rebound off the wear – resistant liner plates on the chamber walls and are struck again by the hammer heads or collide with other pieces, undergoing further fragmentation.
3. Grinding and Shearing
Smaller particles are then ground and sheared between the hammer heads and liner plates. The edges of the hammer heads apply shear force to tough steel, while friction and extrusion refine the particles.
4. Screening and Discharge
Finally, the crushed iron passes through a screen plate at the bottom of the chamber. Materials meeting the desired particle size fall through the screen holes for discharge, while over – sized pieces are retained and sent back for additional crushing until they reach the required size.
